This is the testament to a year of emotional violence, personal growth, failure, loss and toxicity. It took exactly fifty hours to build the mindset that became necessary to make this a record about coping with and overcoming guilt, grief, addiction and depression.
The initial record was about twice as long and got cut down to it's essence, representing the final musical form of this project after nearly a decade of shapeshifting.
About half of the lyrics were not written by the artist himself. They are quotes by dear friends and loved ones, spoken out loud in moments of all consuming hopelessness and honesty. Without these people this record woul've never seen the light of day. You know who you are.
